The Shift Password is highly recommended as an additional layer of security. By changing it frequently, it can keep your data even safer and prevent staff from signing into the carer app remotely.

It is an additional password that all app users have to enter after their own PIN if it has been enabled during that time window.

An administrator can change shift passwords regularly and tell only the carers on that shift what the password is. Staff must not share shift passwords with those who are not on shift.

To set a shift password, click on shift passwords within the team section, then click 'Add a shift password'

  • Title: For your reference as an admin e.g. morning, afternoon, night

  • Start time: the time you would like carers to first be able to sign in. You might want to set this slightly before a shift starts to allow for early arrivals e.g. 07:00 for a shift starting at 08:00

  • End time: The last time you would like carers to be able to sign in. You might want to set this slightly after a shift ends to allow carers to finish things off e.g. 15:00 for a shift ending at 14:00

  • Access Time: This is the length of time before carers will be asked again to enter the shift password. We recommend keeping this fairly short e.g. 2 hours for a 6-hour shift.

  • Password: Type the password. Make sure it's long enough to be secure but easy to remember for carers on shift!

Finally, click 'Add':
