Insight Hub

See incidents, goals, compliance and PIR reporting across every home you manage, in one central hub.

Written by Katie Hitchcock

The Insight Hub brings your multi-site reporting into one place, replacing the older Group Dashboard. It uses your existing Log my Care login, so once your admin has switched it on for you, you'll find it in the dropdown menu under your profile picture - and you'll only see the homes you already have access to through Care Office.

The Insight Hub is split into four tabs - Reports, Compliance, PIR and a Download Centre link in the top right. The sections below cover what each area shows you.

⚠️ The Insight Hub is available on the Outstanding plan, and access is granted per person by your admin through team permissions- add-ons.

Granting access

To give a manager or admin access to Insight Hub, go to Team member permissions in Care Office and open their profile.

Find the Insight Hub add-on toggle on their Manager or Admin role, switch it on, and select Save.

Once this is saved, that person will see Insight Hub in the dropdown menu under their profile icon, next to Switch site. Selecting it takes them straight to Insight Hub - they'll either already be logged in, or can log in with their usual Care Office details.

Reports: incidents list

Go to Reports > List to see every incident report for the homes you're viewing, starting with the most recent.

Use the filter bar to narrow the list down:

  • Date range

  • Incident Type

  • Status

  • Severity

  • Resulted In - the outcome logged against the incident, such as a regulator notification or a care plan update

  • Home

Each entry shows the service user, home, date and time, who witnessed or logged it, a summary of what happened, and its current status (e.g. Open or Needs Review).

Incident dashboard

Go to Reports > Dashboard for a visual breakdown of incidents across the date range you've set.

At the top, you'll see how incidents are progressing (Not Started, In Progress, Completed, Skipped) and their outcome (Closed, Open, Needs Review). Alongside these are two service-level stats:

  • Debriefing - the percentage of incidents with a debrief recorded

  • Root cause - the percentage with a root cause recorded.

Below that, charts break the same data down further: Total Incidents Over Time, By Incident Type, and By Location, plus two sortable panels - Top Incident Types and Incidents per Home.

Incident actions

Go to Reports > Actions to see every action generated from an incident - for example a regulator notification, a care plan update, or a safeguarding referral - as a single sortable table.

Each row shows when the action was created, its incident type, what the action is, its status (Not Started, In Progress or Completed), which home it relates to, and who owns it. Select See Incident on any row to go straight to the incident it came from.

Goals dashboard

Go to Reports > Goals > Dashboard to see progress against goals across the homes you're looking at, filtered by date range and home.

Goal Status shows how many goals are Completed, In Progress, Paused, Not Started or Archived, alongside the total. Goal Statistics lists results for the period: goals completed, average progress added per goal, total milestones completed, average logs per goal, and how many people have a goal in progress or overdue. Three charts below track goals completed, average progress added, and logs linked to goals over time.

Compliance: review dates

Go to Compliance > Review Dates to see how up to date your documents are across the home (or homes) you select.

The chart shows the average percentage of up-to-date documents, then breaks this down by document type:

  • DNACPR (Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

  • Consent Forms

  • DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards)

  • Care Plans

  • Future Plans

  • Goals

Each document type shows an Overdue and an Up to date count.

Select a document type to expand it and see which service users are overdue, and by how many days - so you know exactly who needs a review.

No access to a feature?

If your account doesn't have permission for a particular area, you'll see an error message instead of data, for example:

Speak to an admin at your site if you believe you should have access. If you're an admin having any issues switching this on - please reach out to our support team.

PIR report

Go to PIR and select a home to see data mapped to the CQC's Provider Information Return (PIR) - the annual return care providers submit to the Care Quality Commission.

Safety & incidents shows your incidents of restraint and medicine-related errors over the past 12 months. DoLS tracking shows how many people you support fall into each Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards authorisation status - No Status, Authorised, Requested or Rejected.

People We Support & funding breaks down the people you support by age range and funding type (for example Local Authority or Private). BMI over time shows body mass index classification by month, carried forward from the last assessment if someone hasn't been reassessed. People We Support over time shows the number of people you support across the period - only people marked as active are included, so anyone currently hospitalised isn't counted.

Download centre

Select Download Centre in the top right, from anywhere in Insight Hub, to export your data as CSV files.

Each tile - Team Members, People We Support, Logs, Risk Assessments, Care Plans, Incident Reports, and Outcomes and Goals - covers one dataset across every home you have access to. Select Download CSV on a tile to export just that dataset, or select Bulk Download to export everything at once.

Your browser downloads the CSV file (or files) straight away - nothing changes in Insight Hub itself.
