PainChek® is a digital pain assessment tool that uses the power of artificial intelligence (AI), facial recognition and smartphone technology to automate the pain assessment process at the point of care.

How it works

You can use the PainChek® app on any iOS or Android device, meaning iPhones, iPads, most smartphones and most tablets. PainChek® will use cutting edge AI to measure micro-facial expressions and other non-facial pain indicators to produce a pain score.

What does the integration do?

Through the integration, pain-related data gets pulled across from PainChek® and into Log my Care, where care staff can view it alongside other care-related information.

How to record a PainChek Log

When the integration is set up, you can start a new PainChek® pain assessment from the Carer App by tapping a service user's face and selecting Health Recordings > PainChek.

This will open the PainChek app, where your team can complete the PainChek Assessment:

When the assessment has been carried out and recorded via the PainChek® app, managers will be able to view it via the Care Office as a log. It takes a few minutes for the data to flow through into Log my Care - once it has, you can see it on the logs page

Click on the log to view more details about the pain assessment,

You can see how your service users' pain changes over time through the charts section of their profile. Any PainChek® assessments recorded will show here and you'll see two types of data - at rest and post movement:
