Recommended devices:

We try to keep this list up to date but it's not always possible to grab these good deals before they go out of stock. Our general advice is to find Android smartphones or tablets from a reputable manufacturer with a 4.5 to 8-inch screen. The Carer App will work on Apple devices too but they're generally far pricier!

The minimum operating system requirements for the Care App are as follows:

Android devices (Google, Samsung, Amazon, Huawei):

Android version 6.0 and later

iOS devices (Apple devices):

iOS version 13.4 and later

If you're buying smartphones, our top choice is the Samsung Galaxy A04 at around £90. All-in-all this phone has a lot going for it, a great brand, lots of RAM (we recommend at least 4GB), battery and internal storage for an affordable price.

Another great choice is the Xiaomi Redmi 10 which although appears on the pricier side, is a good option to have for internal storage and RAM. Similar Android devices worth mentioning are the Samsung Galaxy A70 and the OnePlus Nord N200 (5G).

Our partnership with Klyk:

We have an exclusive partnership with a UK sustainable telecommunications company called Klyk. Through them, we can arrange cost-effective, fully managed handheld Samsung devices for you, without you having to do any setup whatsoever. The devices come with Log my Care pre-installed, have extra security features (such as blocking other Apps), and are ready to use right out of the box.

You could, of course, make use of your staff's own devices. Just make sure you're using the Shift Password function to prevent staff from logging in from home, and also Device Access Control, so you can control which devices have access to your account.
