Restrict which Apps your device can use by installing a kiosk App

You may want to limit your device to only being able to use our App. To do this, you'll need what's known as a Kiosk App from the App store. We have used Gokiosk, which has a free version. The free version makes it very difficult (but not impossible) for users to use other Apps. If you want more features, you might want to upgrade to their premium licences.

  1. Install Gokiosk from the App store

  2. Open the Gokiosk App

  3. When prompted, allow the 4 permissions that Gokiosk asks for

  4. When prompted, click allow 'App Usage Access Permission'. You will then be taken to a settings page where you need to turn on 'Usage data access' for Gokiosk. Once done, you can close the settings page and go back to the App

5. Return to the Gokiosk App and click the 'OK GOT IT' button to set Gokiosk as the default launcher. Then Select GoKiosk from the bottom menu as it appears.

6. To set the allowed applications, you'll need to enter the settings menu. To go to the settings menu, tap the white screen 5 times and an 'Enter Password' window will pop up. The default password for the free version is 0000. Then find the 'Allowed Applications' option

7. From here, you can select up to two allowed Apps by clicking the + button. Pick us and the Google Play store to make it easy to run updates

8. To enter Kiosk mode, keep pressing the left arrow et voila, your device is ready to go!

If you ever need to exit the GoKiosk mode, go to settings (tap 5 times) and find the 'Exit GoKiosk' option
