You can use the Care Office to help you keep track of relevant dates for Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) / Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

A small LPS / DoLS tag on the client profile will indicate to your team using the Carer App whether or not LPS / DoLS are in place.

In the Care Office, you'll be able to see the application, start, review and end dates of the LPS / DoLS.

How do I add an LPS / DoLS tag to a client's profile?

Step 1: Go to your client's profile and scroll down to the 'Care-related information' section' to click the 'Edit' button

To indicate that a client has DoLS / LPS in place, go to that client's profile in the Care Office and scroll down to the 'Care-related information' section'

Step 2: Tick 'Yes' in the box next to LPS / DoLS

Scroll down to the 'Care related information' section and click 'yes' in the box next to Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) / Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

Step 3: Add dates

You can now add in the start and end date for the LPS / DoLS as well as application and review dates.

Step 4: Click 'Save'

As soon as the start date passes, a little DoLS / LPS tag will be visible next to the client's profile in the Care Office and Carer App. From the Care Office, you'll also be able to see the next review date from the client's profile page.

How do I know when a LPS / DoLS is due for a review?

You'll see the review date, next to the application date in the client profile in the Care Office.

If the review date has passed and no review of the dates has been saved in the client profile, the LPS / DoLS will show as overdue.

How to remove the LPS / DoLS tag from a client's profile

Step 1: Go to your client's profile and click 'Edit profile'

Step 2: Click 'No' in the box next to LPS / DoLS then click 'Save'

Troubleshooting

Why is my client's LPS / DoLS shown as overdue?

This means that the review date for the LPS / DoLS is in the past. Review the LPS / DoLS and adjust the dates accordingly.

Why are my client's LPS / DoLS not showing?

Check the start date for the LPS / DoLS. If the start days are in the future, our system will not indicate that LPS / DoLS are in place. On the start day, the LPS / DoLS tag will appear to show that LPS / DoLS are in place.

Why have my LPS / DoLS disappeared?

Check the end date for the LPS / DoLS. If it has passed, our system will no longer show the tag indicating LPS/ DoLS are in place.
