How does offline mode work?

As part of Pro, the Carer App can work offline

If your organisation has upgraded to our set of Pro features, offline mode will have been enabled for all users in the Carer App.

This means that if you move between areas of poor Wi-Fi or internet reception, you will receive a message at the bottom of your app screen saying "You are working offline".

You can continue to work offline and will be able to

  • Create logs

  • Work through your To-Do lists

  • View basic Client profile information

All logs and completed To-Do's will be stored in an offline queue. Once you are connected to the internet again you will see a green "Connected and syncing" message while it is uploading your logs.

Please note that the app needs to be open in order to sync. It won't happen if your device connects to the internet while the app is in the background. You'll need to remember to re-connect to the internet before going off shift or the logs can't be saved.

There are some app features which require a live internet connection and so can't work offline:

  • Client charts

  • Viewing care documents

  • eMAR

If you don't have offline mode yet, you can find more info about Pro on our website or get in touch with us!
