Please note: If you are logging medication rounds on Log my Care, you will need to use Clinical Care - Custom Entry whilst you're setting up eMAR.

Signing a medication in the Carer App will automatically populate the client's eMAR, so you can see what has and has not been administered.

To sign a medication you'll need to have Medication Permission, which an Admin can set on the Team page.

Step 1 - Go to the client's medication page in the Carer App 🙋‍♂️

This will appear in a bar at the top of the client list or on the clients' page. You'll be shown a list of everyone that is still due to take their medication.

On a client's medication page you will see the previous round, the current round and the next round.

Step 2 - Open the medication round time that you are signing for 🕑

Here you will see all the medications that are due for this round. You can read more information about any medication by clicking on the ‘i’ icon e.g. any additional support.

Step 3 - Once you’re ready to sign, click on the green ‘Sign MAR Chart’ ✏️

Step 4 - For each medication, answer the question 'Was this medication administered?' 💊

Clicking 'No', you'll be asked to select a reason code. There’s also a space for extra space to write more information, if needed.

Step 5 - Once you’ve signed for each medication, click 'Next' 👉

Now you can see an overview of the medication you just signed. You also have the option to add any additional comments for this handover and add a witness.

Step 6 - You'll now see an overview of the round, if everything is correct, click 'Sign eMAR Chart' 👍

The outcomes will automatically appear in the clients eMAR alongside any additional information that has been filled out.

Please note: You cannot sign missed medication in the Carer App from the previous day.
