What does it mean if my visit address is invalid? ๐Ÿ“โš ๏ธ

An invalid visit address means that Log my Care cannot locate the address on the map using the Google Maps API. The system uses this service to confirm the location of visits and calculate travel information.

If the address cannot be found, Log my Care cannot accurately verify where the visit is taking place. This may result in:

  • Geofencing warnings when carers try to clock in or clock out โฑ๏ธ

  • Clock-in restrictions depending on your organisationโ€™s settings ๐Ÿ”’

  • Incorrect or missing travel time and mileage calculations ๐Ÿš—

Ensuring the visit address is valid helps the system confirm that carers are in the correct location and allows travel calculations to work properly.

How can I correct an invalid visit address? ๐Ÿ”ง

Log my Care uses Google Maps API to locate and verify visit addresses. If an address is marked as invalid, you can usually resolve this by reviewing and updating the address details.Try the following steps:

1. Check the postcode ๐Ÿ“ฌ

Make sure the address includes a valid and complete postcode.
Incorrect, partial, or missing postcodes are one of the most common reasons an address cannot be located.

2. Include a street name ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ

The address should contain a clear street identifier, such as:

  • Road

  • Avenue

  • Street

  • Lane

  • Drive

3. Add more address details ๐Ÿ“

Providing additional information helps Google Maps find the address more accurately. Try including:

  • Building name or number

  • Street name

  • City or town

  • Country

The more complete the address is, the easier it is for the system to pinpoint the correct location.

Tip ๐Ÿ’ก
If you're unsure whether the address will work, try searching for the same address in Google Maps. If Google Maps cannot find it, Log my Care may not be able to locate it either.

What happens once the address is corrected? โœ…

After updating the address so that it can be successfully located on the map:

  • The invalid address warning will disappear

  • Geofencing checks will work as expected

  • Travel time and mileage calculations will function correctly

If the issue continues after updating the address, it may help to review the spelling or add more location details to improve accuracy.
